The log cabin is located on gnr.1, bnr 4, Solbjørg, in Samnanger, not far from the border with Øs. The sister of the landowner (Fredrik Rolvsvåg) was married to the uncle of Bjarne Øvredal, Fredrik Øvredal.

Fredrik was an avid bird and big game hunter and was thinking of using the cabin, which is very nicely situated on the headland in Botnavatnet, about 215 m above sea level, for accommodation during hunting and other outdoor activities.

The architect was Jakob Hjelle. Jakob had all built a similar cabin in Steindalen, to himself, in 1938.

Fredrik never had to sign any bargain contract on the site. Fredrik always said that contracts were made at that time "a man was a man and a word a word"

The map above shows how we cut timber, where the workshop lies, and the length of the forest road. We carried what we could not pick up by helicopter from the end of the forest road.
