The new timber was emptied with the help of extra labor hired from Osterøy Museum (Dennis Guhl) and Oselvarverkstaden (Leif Harald Amundsen).

Ordinary house moss was used between the logs, and simple sloping joints with pins were used where the joints between old and new were used.

There were major rot injuries in the chest wall in the south, but here there was still screw fixation in the core wood and the wall was intact. Interventions in this wall would result in dismantling and possible replacement of hills and ceilings (original ceiling). We therefore chose to cut the lower log into fresh wood at the bottom, add a 3 "x 6" below it for laying to the pillars and further attaching the extension to the outside which supports up the hills and forms nails for cladding.

The cladding here is as original as it is. The four columns in the south end are impregnated and replaced.
